Donation Will Help Match 50 Veterans to IT Industry Jobs
BOSTON and ATLANTA — Nov. 7, 2013 — Continuum Veterans Foundation, helping returning troops find jobs in the IT industry, donated $50,000 to Atlanta, Georgia-based Hire Heroes USA, an organization dedicated to creating job opportunities for U.S. military veterans and their spouses through personalized employment training and corporate engagement. The Continuum Veterans Foundation was established by Continuum, the technology industry's only channel-exclusive provider of fully integrated managed services, in July 2012 to provide financial support to local and national charities that focus on helping veterans find jobs.
"Through the Continuum Veterans Foundation, Continuum is setting an impeccable example of supporting our highly trained and well-educated troops returning home after serving our country and now needing jobs outside the military," saidBrian Stann, President and CEO of Hire Heroes USA. "We are grateful to our veterans for their service as well as to the Continuum Veterans Foundation for their generous support of Hire Heroes USA."
The donation will help nearly 50 veterans find a job and start a new life outside of the military. Continuum is the primary donor to the Continuum Veterans Foundation with a percentage of revenue from its extended 24 x 7 Service Desk offeringsgoing to the Foundation in order to donate to national and local nonprofit organizations that focus on helping veterans find jobs.
"Many veterans are returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan to an economy still recovering, but there are many job opportunities in the IT industry well suited to both veterans and U.S. businesses," said Michael George, CEO at Continuum. "In many cases, the private sector does not fully understand the vast technical experience as well as leadership, teamwork and commitment qualities that our veterans gain in the military. The Continuum Veterans Foundation is fully committed to helping veterans find jobs through organizations specializing in this area, and we applaud Hire Heroes USA for their commitment."
Continuum Managed Services believes it is essential for successful companies to stand for a purpose beyond revenue and to support causes far greater than itself. The company provides preferential consideration in hiring veterans. Senators John McCain, John Kerry and Scott Brown support Continuum's commitment to this important cause.
